PROJECTS

Aerial 2.jpeg

The above photos show the complete design of this 7-storey, reinforced concrete framed, new build halls of residence in Nottingham town centre, which was designed by JPE Contracts Ltd. It incorporated a 2 -storey RC basement, contiguous piled walls, temporary propping, falsework, ground bearing basement slab, flat slabs, RC beams, masonry support design, 3D finite element analysis, RC stair design and RC detailing.

Basements and temporary works

Largely based in London, these are normally installed as part of a complex underpinning scheme beneath existing houses.

Working directly for developers, private clients and contractors alike, our structural designs help facilitate the provision of additional habitable and recreational space in congested city areas.

Where a permanent works designer has already been appointed, we provide the option of temporary works analysis - from the design of the propping structures, to the design of complex RC multi-storey basements in the temporary support cases.

Piled rafts, ground beams & tower crane bases

Piled rafts are typically designed for new build residential developments.

However, here at JPE Contracts we have also designed these for underpinning existing plots as well as new build schools and commercial applications.

We undertake design from building load takedown, through the analysis with our sophisticated finite element software and then the production of general arrangement drawings, reinforcement drawings and schedules and calculations. This provides our clients with efficient slab design, flexible pile arrangements and accurate pile loads.

Biogas tanks

Designed to retain liquids and gases, JPE Contracts Ltd have designed many reinforced concrete tanks for the Biogas industry.

Our 3D finite element analysis allows us to model the partially buried tanks across various different construction and service stages - providing a robust and efficient design, whether ground bearing or supported on piles.

We specify geotechnical investigations and collaborate with geotechnical specialists where we encounter more complex and challenging ground conditions.

JPE Contracts Ltd was a guest speaker at the GE Basement & Underground Structures Conference on behalf of ASUC (Association of Specialist Underpinning Contractors) and Abbey Pynford.

The presentation demonstrated the similarity between commercial and domestic basements, highlighting the need for the ASUC guidance handbook in domestic applications for professionals and clients alike.
